Privacy policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026 · This policy describes how BrieflyDigest (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website, calculators, blog, and related features. It is written for visitors in the United States and the United Kingdom and may be updated; we will adjust the date above when we make material changes.

1. Who we are

Briefly Digest is a personal finance content and tools platform. The data controller for personal data processed through this Site is the entity named in our Impressum / legal notice if we publish one, or the project owner operating the domain you are visiting.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide. If you submit a contact or “lead” form, we collect the name, email, and message you enter. If we operate an account system in the future, we would collect the fields required for that service.

Technical data. Our servers and hosting may log IP address, user agent, request time, and similar diagnostic data. We may use analytics (e.g. Google Analytics) if enabled in our configuration; that involves cookies or similar technology as described by the provider.

Calculators. By default, many calculators run in your browser without sending your inputs to us; where a feature explicitly sends data to our servers, we will describe it in context.

3. Legal bases (UK / EEA style)

Where UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process personal data on the following bases as appropriate: (a) consent (e.g. non-essential cookies or marketing, where we ask); (b) contract (to provide a service you request); (c) legitimate interests (e.g. securing the Site, understanding aggregate usage, improving content), balanced against your rights; (d) legal obligation.

4. How we use information

We use the data we collect to: operate and improve the Site; respond to your messages; protect against abuse, fraud, and security risks; measure audience and content performance; comply with law; and, if you have agreed, send relevant updates (you can opt out of marketing where required).

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use essential cookies for basic functionality. If we enable analytics or advertising (including Google Analytics or ad networks), those providers may set cookies or use pixels subject to their policies and your browser settings. You can block cookies in your browser, though some features may not work as intended.

6. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with: hosting and infrastructure providers; email delivery services if you email us; analytics or advertising partners if those features are active; and authorities when required by law or to protect our rights. We require processors to use data only to provide their services to us.

7. International transfers

If you access the Site from the UK or EEA, your data may be processed in the United States or other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK / EU standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

8. Retention

We keep form submissions and logs only as long as needed for the purposes above, to resolve disputes, or to meet legal, accounting, and reporting requirements, unless a longer period is required by law.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to certain processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. You may have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise rights, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

US state laws: Some US states provide additional rights (e.g. access, deletion, opt-out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising). We do not sell personal data in the traditional sense; if our use of ad tech constitutes a sale or sharing under your state law, you may have opt-out rights as required by that law.

10. Children’s privacy

The Site is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, use the same contact method we provide on the Site (e.g. form or email). For EU/UK data protection contact, we will publish a dedicated address if we appoint a representative.

13. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be indicated by the “Last updated” date. Please review this page periodically. Your continued use of the Site after an update is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy to the extent permitted by law.
